Coursera partners with a large number of universities and learning centers, worldwide, to bring high-quality training to all. Many of the partner unversities and training centers offer free courses to the public, and host these free courses on the Coursera platform.

OpenLearn is an arm of Open University. This popular online learning platform offers more than 1,000 free courses to students worldwide.
Students have the opportunity to receive a "Statement of Participation" after completing some courses. While some courses award a "digital badge" on completion.

edX is a well-respected, online learning platform offering a wide range of courses to people worldwide.
edX courses are fee-based. However, most of these courses offer a free "Audit Track". If you pursue this track, you will not receive a "Certificate of Achievement". Additionally, this track is time- and resource-restricted. Students who begin a course via the free "Audit Track" can upgrade to the fee-based "Verified" track while the course is underway.
